~ with a Breathe & a Shimmering {~ Lady Liberty, lavendin, & fireflies }

Standing at the edge of the Sea, with the waves lapping at our feet, & the Lamp of Liberty Shining Away ~ how soothing!

{beforehand, collecting a few vines, hydrangea & lavendin to grace a sparkling cup ~

ivy here is abundant! vines & thickets of forest have sprung up at the highway's edge, giving the appearance of an ancient forest, a landscape hushed & untouched for centuries.. .
One would  hardly believe it has been brought to life in a few short weeks, {{& will disappear again with the coming of the snow, & Winter's landscape of ice & lace}} The Season's here are a wonder & a marvel in themselves!

& then, there are the fireflies ~ for a few short weeks at the setting of the Summer Sun, they appear ~
flitting & dancing on a canopy of cornfields below the rising stars.
~ they appear like glowing fairy lights in the shadow's of the forest growth.

all our lives, we rely on the concrete, the tangible.
but on seeing your first firefly, the alchemy of the impossible becomes an infinitude of fact.

anyone who has seen how a little bug can hold the glimmer of light within it's wings,(1)
has enough reason to hope,
to dream,
yes, even to Believe

{~ in God,
from Whence We Came,
Who Is our Home ~}(2)

 (1) ~ i know the light isn't in the wings, but for the beauty of the prose, this realm of dreaming, {of Enid Blyton's world where the folk of the faraway tree host magical fairy fairs} it seemed more fitting <3

(2) ~ adapted from this poem, by William Wordsworth
Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting:
The Soul that rises with us, our life's Star, 60
Hath had elsewhere its setting,
And cometh from afar:
Not in entire forgetfulness,
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come 65
From God, who is our home:  ****
