~ lace fleur coat of arms

finally finished the cover of the first journal dedicated to the development of ideas, rather than a compilation of writings

I really love the {personal}coat of arms with a trio of lace roses, & the little tag with a gold embroidered bloom to match the gold foiling on the cookbook

binding it in this style nearly gave me a heart attack :) {incredibly stressful but rather illuminating!}

{my three favourite things right now,
black cotton, vocabulary tape & black lace tape!}

layering thoughts,
{embroidering dreams!}

treasured notions for you,

{& part of a hand I almost used from our Irish family coat of arms

billowing hearts!

~ to embroider a rose.. . {by hand}

 I began by drawing a rose in ink

 Lay it over the placement you would like, taping it in place {poke holes across the outline with your needle}

then begin stitching, overlaying scraps of fabric yadda ya

et voila

I am even pretty fond of the back! {an indication of the struggles & hard work it took to emerge} :)

daintily peddling along
 <3 {sending hearts!}

~ wading,

preserving.

& some perfect tiny stars described here! {you have no idea how long those just those two took me, I have no idea how Karen does it, so exquisite!}

& loving these glorious velvet journals, & thinking how perfect a rainbow filled shelf of these would be!
